As humans, we are constantly forming relationships with our surroundings. I incorporate them into sculptures, immortalizing a fleeting moment in aluminum. Like the first pigeon I kept in my parents’ freezer and later brought to the metal workshop. Or the plant I cared for over three years, which I preserved in metal after it died. Even the stinging nettle that pricked me while gardening found its way into an aluminum sculpture.

The chemical furan sand, which I have been working with at the foundry for years, continues to fascinate me.
