Commissioned by ‘Impresariaat van de kunsten’ and Quiet, where the story of a member of Quiet gets translated in a visual work. Quiet is an organisation committed to helping people in poverty in the Netherlands. In one of the conversations I had with the member of Quiet, Henk, I scanned his hands. Through this scan the work has emerged, here for I used aluminum and glass. I created it with the following thoughts in my mind: ‘what have these hands been through’ and ‘what do they do for others’. The glass is a transparent addition which offers a certain protection.
