about me
Lieve (2001) tries to create her own (dark) reality through her work. This happens in different manners. She collects dead birds, typewriters, old books and rosaries. She uses these objects in her artistic practices with ceramic, glaze and aluminium. In this way the objects are recognizable. This recognizability also plays a huge part in Lieve’s paintings and drawings. Besides recognizability; coincidences, contrast, connections, texts and non-texts also plays a part in her work.
This diversity of objects and works, come to expression in installations often with sound. These sounds are an edited collection of found and recorded sounds or estranged sounds made with a guitar, typewriter, harp or more.
